Infinite Dreams, Limitless Futures
Writing As Everyday Resistance
by Noah Arhm Choi, Camryn Garrett, Zeli Miceli, Amelia Possanza, Bushra Rehman, Kelly Roberts
The Lambda Literary Writers in Schools program provides a safe, necessary space for LGBTQ+ high school students to express themselves through creative writing. In our 8-week writing workshops, young LGBTQ+ writers learn the craft of writing from queer teaching artists, read illustrative texts by contemporary LGBTQ+ authors, and explore themes of liberation, resistance, and queerness today. Our anthology also features poems by LGBTQ+ students who participated in our third LGBTQ+ Youth Poet Laureate Residency, led by Poet-in-Residence Noah Arhm Choi. Over 4 months, students from high schools across NYC learned about various elements of poetry and wrote towards a limitless future. Featuring introductions from teaching artists Noah Arhm Choi, Camryn Garrett, Zeli Miceli, Amelia Possanza, Bushra Rehman, and Kelly Roberts.
