Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your name, email address, profile image, and the identity provider you used (for example Google, Discord, or TikTok). We store a minimal profile (display name, avatar, role) linked to your account ID.
• Content you submit. Reviews, ratings, book suggestions, and edit proposals you contribute, along with the account that submitted them.
• Technical data. Standard server and security logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) generated when you use the site.

How we use it

• To operate the catalog and your account.
• To display your reviews and contributions with your chosen display name.
• To review submissions and moderate content.
• To maintain security and prevent abuse.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf: Clerk (authentication), Neon (database), and Vercel (hosting). When you sign in with a third-party provider (Google, Discord, TikTok), that provider's own privacy policy governs the data it shares with us.

Affiliate links

Book “buy” links are affiliate links; see our affiliate disclosure. When you follow one, the retailer may set its own cookies on its own site. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies & consent

We group cookies into three categories:

• Necessary(always on) — authentication (session), your theme preference, site access, and remembering your cookie choice. The site can't function without these.
• Analytics — privacy-friendly usage statistics (Vercel Web Analytics) that help us improve the catalog. Loaded only after you consent.
• Marketing— we don't use any today; this category is reserved and would only be used after you consent.

On your first visit a banner lets you Accept all, Reject non-essential cookies, or Manage preferences per category. We store your choice in a first-party cookie for about 180 days. You can change it any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.

Your choices

You can update your profile or delete your account at any time through your account settings. Deleting your account removes your profile; contributions may be retained in anonymized form to keep the catalog intact. To request access to or deletion of your data, get in touch.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
