Emma Victor is back, and now she finds herself in the middle of a transcendental mystery set in California communeland. Emma is hot on the trail of Lana Flax, her best friend's kid sister, a physics prodigy turned member of the yellow-clad cult of the Vishnu Divine Inspiration Center. As Emma follows Lana into this mysterious commune, she meets up with some colorful and sexy characters, including Nebraska Storm, punk queen turned reformed junkie, and the sultry, six-foot redhead Bu Mper Lee ("Bumper" to her friends). When Lana finally turns up--dead--Emma begins to wonder if cult members turn on with something stronger than yogurt and higher consciousness. And the deeper Emma digs into California's dark side, the closer she gets to her own out-of-body experience--the big one call death--in this wry and chilling mystery of chakras, mantras, and murder.
