Sebastian has hunted this monster once already, twenty years ago, and it nearly killed him even with a demon on his side. Now it's back, and so is an estranged lover with a dark history tied to it. He offers Sebastian both a shot at finishing the job and an uncomfortable reconciliation. Reviewers keep calling it genre-defying, part horror and part romance, with humor that catches you off guard given how bloody things get. A hunter still drawn to someone tangled up in the monster's own history is a sharper premise than most monster romances offer.
